The Central German Broadcasting Corporation (MDR) filmed a segment about Exipnos GmbH today. The film crew was particularly interested in the DCIM technology developed within the company, as well as the company’s development since its founding approximately seven years ago.
Merseburg, November 15, 2016. The occasion for the visit was the tenth anniversary of the Halle-Saalekreis Founders’ Network, from which Exipnos also benefited in its early stages. The spin-off, which emerged from a Nuremberg family business in 2009, used laboratory and production facilities at the Merseburg Innovation and Technology Center (mitz II) in the Schkopau ValuePark until 2015. At this location, the team around founder Peter Putsch benefited from proximity to technology leaders in the plastics industry, such as the US chemical company Dow Chemical, the Fraunhofer Pilot Plant Center, and KraussMaffei Technologies. The close cooperation with this mechanical engineering company formed the basis for a new development by Exipnos, which was awarded the Hugo Junkers Innovation Prize in 2014 : the DCIM (Direct Compounding Injection Molding) direct compounding technology. This process makes it possible to save energy- and cost-intensive steps in the production of plastic components.
In 2015, Exipnos moved from the Schkopau ValuePark to its current location in the Gewerbepark industrial park on Brandisstraße. The company now has seven employees.
